Seafood Mac and Cheese is a delightful twist on the classic comfort food that brings together the richness of creamy cheese sauce with the savory flavors of seafood. A bubbling casserole dish filled with tender pasta, succulent seafood, and gooey melted cheese – a dish that is both comforting and indulgent at the same time.
Ingredients

  • 1 pound pasta (such as elbow macaroni or shells)
  • 1 pound mixed seafood (shrimp, crab meat, lobster, etc.)
  • 4 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Gruyere, or a blend)
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: breadcrumbs for topping

Directions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk constantly for 1-2 minutes to make a roux.
  3. Slowly pour in the milk while whisking continuously to create a smooth sauce. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  5. Add the cooked pasta and mixed seafood to the cheese sauce, stirring gently to combine.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Transfer the mac and cheese mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top for a crispy crust.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
